We have had one of these clocks for over two years. It has worked perfectly for us. I would give it five stars if it also was an atomic clock but for the price, it is a very good buy.

This is a great alarm clock, the fact that it can be complementary dimmed at night with the alarm still working is great. It is also nice how it can display time in a 24 hour format. The best feature is how long the battery lasts, this thing was able to get through a few major power outages on one AA battery. Have had it for over 7 months now without a problem.

The search for a clock displaying seconds and being readable at night was fairly laborious but a reviewer- writing about the tiny Elgin- recommended this much bigger Timex and after looking at hundreds of clocks which had one or the other but not both features I wanted, Eureka, this one is the one for me in the bedroom. I can read the time from accross the room day or night and I can take my pulse 1st thing in the morning, in bed in total darkness. The built quality is fair for the price; the ease of use is quite good as I set the time w/o even reading the manual; accuracy is surprisingly not a forte of this clock but I didn't buy it to keep atomic time. 1 Star penalty for 2 reasons: a) There's no way of angling the screen up or down (it doesn't swivel) so, few degrees off center and the LED figures disappear. I raised the back of the base so the screen faces slightly down to be able to read it, from the bed, because the clock is set on a fairly high dresser. b) This clock should be powered by a couple AA batteries; It's a pain having to run a stiff cord around things on a dresser and finding an outlet close by. All in all, I'm happy with the clock. It's very visible in all conditions (except at wider angles) and the various colours are fun too.
