I purchased my Powermax 10,000 generator from Max tool several years ago. Our electric goes out once in a while and my generator has only 32 hours on it. My generator is kept inside our dry basement and fuel is changed after each time. The voltage regulator went bad and I have been trying to get a new one for three weeks. Max tool company has told me that they did away with that model, now it's called DuroMax and they don't have the voltage regulator part that I need. Customer service is very bad. My question to them was, What do I do now? Throw away a $1000.00 generator? There answer was, we will see if we can find one. They never got back to me. Be careful what you buy you might not be able to get parts for it after several years go buy.

Received the generator in 5 business days. Box was a little banged up but the generator well packaged and in good condition, even when the delivery driver dropped it out of his truck. Followed the instructions, installed the wheel kit and was ready to run in an hour. From other reviews I was prepared with a long spout flexible funnel to fill the oil (you'll need one).
The generator started with the first pull. I put a load on both circuits, electric heaters on high, 1500 watts each side. The generator pulled down a bit but did not quit. After a few minutes I set the load to 800 watts and let the generator run two hours. Changed the oil after the two hour run, it was black. Do Not Skip the breakin phase if you really want it to last. Started up, again on the first pull, and let it run for four hours. Changed the oil, much cleaner the second oil change. Will run again for eight hours with another oil change. Then the breakin will be complete.
This generator is everything advertised. It can pull a load at 30 amps without stalling and is reasonably quiet. I am impressed. For the price I am very pleased. When I receive the transfer switch I have ordered I'll test the 240 circuit on my home a/c... with the 30 amp capacity it should handle the load. Will update...
